Of, pertaining to, or characteristic of the critical method of Morelli, which introduced a new, systematic approach to art criticism, insisting esp. on the study of detail as a guide in the attribution of paintings. So Moˈrellian n., a follower of Morelli's critical method; Moˈrellianism, the technique of art criticism employed by Morelli.
