Schol.L. infīnītātio (Abelard Dialectica 225), n. of action from infīnītāre: see prec.] The action of infinitating or making ‘infinite’; the condition of being infinitated; hence, applied to one of the forms of immediate inference, also called permutation or obversion, in which one term, usually the predicate, of the original proposition is made negative.
