Referring to an indefinite amount or sub-set of a whole.
1939P. Christophersen Articles ii. 33 Continuate-words have only zero-form and the-form. The former is used when the thing meant is viewed as unlimited or having indefinite limits. We can distinguish three different significations of the zero-form: (1) The whole genus everywhere and at all times (toto-generic sense)...
