The titrimetric analysis of an oxidizing or reducing agent using the iodine/iodide redox system; spec. the quantitative analysis of a solution of an oxidizing agent by the addition of excess iodide followed by titration of the iodine so liberated with thiosulphate or arsenite solution. Cf. iodimetry.
