Vulgar or affected (cf. fella) form of fellow n. 9. Also in jocular phr. young feller-me-(or my-)lad, orig. used vocatively with an implication of disapproval or reproof; hence as compound n. designating a young man of a frivolous or irresponsible character; also (occas.) of women.
