[App. a corruption of pitch (or peace) and patience.] A Jewish card game resembling patience, played by two persons, in which the cards are taken as they come from the pack, the object being to arrange them in an upward or downward sequence until the pack is exhausted, when the player who has the fewer cards in his hand is declared the winner.
