| 释义 | † muscane, a. Sc. Obs. Also muskane. [Of doubtful origin; cf. Gael. mosgain ‘having dry-rot, as wood’ (McAlpine), Irish mosgán ‘rotten, decayed’ (O'Reilly); also Norw. mosken of the same meaning, and mosker v.] Of wood: Rotten, decaying. Warner mistook the word in the Bellenden passage for the name of a kind of wood.
