释义 | rear-vassal Hist. Also rere-. [f. rear- + vassal, after F. arrière-vassal, ‘an vnder-vassall, a vassall vnto a vassall’ (Cotgr.).] A sub-vassal; one who does not hold directly of the sovereign.
