The second form is perh. short for damal-olic.] In damalic or damolic acid, an acid (C7H8O) discoverd by Städeler in cows' urine. Hence ˈdamolate [-ate4], a salt of damolic acid. damaˈluric [uric] damaluric acid, an acid (C8H10O2) akin to damolic, and of the same origin; its salts are damaˈlurates.
