释义 | penicillinase Biochem.|pɛnɪˈsɪlɪneɪz, -s| [f. prec. + -ase.] Any of the enzymes (produced by certain bacteria) which cause the breaking up of the carbon-nitrogen bond in the lactam ring of some penicillins (so rendering them ineffective as antibiotics). Cf. lactamase.
