| 释义 | ˌsubintroˈduce, v. [ad. L. subintrōdūcĕre: see sub- 25 and introduce.] trans. To introduce in a secret or subtle manner. Chiefly in ppl. a. In quot. 1886 with reference to the mulieres subintroductæ (Gr. συνείσακτοι), called also extraneæ, whom clerics were forbidden by the canons of various councils to have in their houses.
