[f. Ibiza, Iviça, one of the Balearic Islands + Sp. -eño, -ene.]
A type of hound, said to be descended from ancient Egyptian hunting dogs, native to the island of Ibiza and characterized by large, pointed, pricked ears and white, fawn, or reddish-brown colouring; also as adj.; also called Ibizan or Balearic hound.
