释义 | ‖ hoya Bot.|ˈhɔɪə| [mod.Bot.L., from the name of Thomas Hoy, an English gardener (died 1821).] A large genus of climbing herbaceous plants (N.O. Asclepiadaceæ), bearing dense umbels of fleshy or waxen flowers, pink, white, or yellow; commonly known as honey-plants, wax-plants, or wax-flowers. They are natives of southern Asia, the Malay archipelago, and Australia, and are cultivated in greenhouses for their beauty.
