释义 | ‖ Puccinia Bot.|pʌkˈsɪnɪə| [Named after T. Puccini, an Italian anatomist.] A large genus of minute parasitic fungi, N.O. Uredineæ, the species of which are heterœcious. The best-known species, P. graminis, grows as an æcidium on the leaves of the barberry, and its spores produce the Uredo or rust on wheat, rye, oats, and grass.

Hence ˈpuccinoid a., allied in form to Puccinia.
