Indiarum, Amsterdam 1658, 141, has ‘Pequea sive Pekia’.] A tree (Caryocar butyrosum) of the tea family (Ternstrœmiaceæ), native to Guyana, valuable for its timber, and producing nuts resembling the souari- or butter-nuts, but more oily.
