释义 | novobiocin Pharm.|nəʊvəʊˈbaɪəsɪn| [prob. f. as next + bio- + -mycin.] A weakly acidic tetracyclic phenol, C31H35N2O11, that is produced by certain actinomycetes of the genus Streptomyces and is used in treating infections with bacteria resistant to less toxic antibiotics; also, the sodium or calcium salt of this phenol, in which forms it is usually administered.
