Wochenschr. 12 Feb. 322).] Simmonds' (also Simmonds's, ¶ Simmond's) disease: pituitary insufficiency caused by destruction of the gland, characterized by weakness, loss of body hair, and progressive gonadal, adrenocortical, and thyroidal failure, and occurring chiefly in women; esp. the chronic form (cf. Sheehan's syndrome).
