Zool.|ɑːˌtɪkjʊˈleɪtə| [L., pl. neuter (sc. animalia) of articulātus jointed.] Cuvier's name for his third great subdivision or sub-kingdom of animals, embracing invertebrate animals with an external skeleton, having the body and limbs composed of segments jointed together, as Insects, Crustacea, Centipedes, and Worms. (Cf. Annuloida, Annulosa, Arthropoda.)
