A council, an assembly; spec. (usu. with capital initial) the legislative assembly of one of the former Boer republics (Hist.).

The electric cat-fish, Malapterurus electricus, belonging to the family Malapteruridæ, found in the Nile and other rivers of central and western tropical Africa, and distinguished by electric cells in the fatty tissue just beneath the skin.
