Of, involving, or produced by pyrolysis; pyrolytic carbon or pyrolytic graphite, a strong, heat-resistant, highly-ordered form of graphite deposited as a vapour from products of hydrocarbon pyrolysis and used esp. in rocket-engine nozzles and as a coating in missile nose-cones, etc.
