rhodizonic, a. Chem.|rəʊdɪˈzɒnɪk|
[f. Gr. ῥοδίζειν to be red, f. ῥόδον rose, after G. rhodizonsäure (Heller, 1837).]
The name of two acids (so named because their salts are red) obtained from carboxide of potassium. Hence rhodiˈzonate, a salt of rhodizonic acid.
