[ad. Gr. διαζευκτικός disjunctive, f. διαζευγνύναι to disjoin, f. διά apart + ζευγνύναι (stem ζευγ-) to join.]
Disjunctive; applied, in ancient Greek Music, to the interval of a tone separating disjunct tetrachords; also to the tetrachords (= disjunct). So ‖ diaˈzeuxis [Gr. διάζευξις], the separation of two tetrachords by a tone.
